Cades Cove Bicycle Ride

Cades Cove is closed to automobile traffic until 10AM on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer so that walkers and bicyclists can enjoy the loop. Today was the last day, and it was a nice 11 mile ride.

Bryce Across America - Colorado

We had a wonderful trip to Colorado, seeing the
sights of Denver and Colorado Springs during
the Labor Day weekend. We had the opportunity
to retrace some of the steps from the Gilliam
family's trip out West in 1974. Interestingly,
throughout the weekend I had an undeniable
craving for pickle pimento loaf. The photo
above is at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado
Springs.

famous by his uncle Scott some
36 years before as he holds the
weight of 10 tons of red stone

Bryce wanted to go hiking so we obliged and
glad we did as we enjoyed some spectacular
views from the rocks

Hairpin curves, very few guard rails and
majestic scenery mark the the road up to
Pikes Peak, 14,110 feet above sea level. It was
36 degrees at the summit. The cold temperature
and thin air turned Bryce's lips blue.

is hard to believe it is almost 50 years old.

Posted by PicasaBryce informed us that he wants to go to the
Air Force Academy, leaving Lisa to ponder about
a possible condominium lease in Denver.
