Tennis News Flash

At the February 1st Union City Council meeting, Bart White once again asked for city assistance in getting the long awaited indoor tennis courts off the ground. Per Bart, the courts would be located across from the Middle School courts, would consist of 2 indoor courts and that $215,000 had been raised. He added that he would have no problem raising the balance of the funds, if the city agrees to staff it.
Curiously, this new council seemed positive, although cautious about how much the staffing would cost. I think it should have been clarified that these courts should only be operated for 4 to 5 months per year.
Anyway, they are going to get some revenue numbers together before the next council meeting to determine economics of it....but it might just happen.
